Home again, Home again, Jiggity Jig

We arrived home midafternoon of May 3o, six weeks after we left. We traveled 9,585 covering 18 states and 21 National Parks and Monuments along with many other sights.
The lowest gas price was $3.36 on April 26 in Oklahoma and the highest was $4.07 in Cresent City, CA on May 15. Most of the time we paid between $3.77 and $3.87.
Temperatures ranged from a high of 108 in Central Oregon to a low of 33 with heavy snow in Yellowstone National Park. During the first part of the trip, we had sunny days almost every day until mid-Oregon when the clouds, rain and even snow moved in and stayed with us until this afternoon in Michigan when we finally saw the sun.
Some our favorites were: Route 66 which brought us back to memories of our younger years, the beauty of the National Parks, especially Yosemite and Yellowstone and the Hearst Castle. If you plan to travel and are 62, and plan to go to some of the National Parks, buy a Golden Ager Card for $10 which allows you to go into all of the parks free - a savings of $10 to $20 for each park.
Thank you to Pete and Dot, Tim, Laurie, Hannah and Jacob, Dale and Barb, Kit and Murray and Sid and Aurene for your hospitality and delicious meals. It was great to meet up with each of you again.
Thanks for reading our blog and supporting us with your comments. We will be back again when we hit the road this fall.

We are leaving as soon as the donations come in. Actually we were in Europe for 2 weeks in November, but a blog didn't work then as the fee per minute was really high and the service was abnormally slow.

Thanks for all of your comments. You sent the most comments and we enjoyed reading them.
